are the cl type s 6 speed really that fast? rather have that over s2000?
I have an '01 CL-S.
ultimate lurker summarizes my opinion of the car very well.
Well, I don't have a manual. That is a big part of the reason I want a S2K.
The CL-S is a great daily driver. The engine is spirited and just plain fun to listen to as it rockets to 7k RL.
The OEM tires suck. They are pathetic. If you love the CL-S, as I do, then you upgrade the rubber quickly.
The headers are wonderful and when you upgrade the springs and shocks to stiffen them up a bit, that car is so fun, man, it just feels like it is blasting to 60 and nothing can hold it back.
But . . . it isn't a convertible, I don't have the stick, and it is FWD, and it weighs about 3500lbs. And that is why I will get an S2K. I can't "mod-away" some of the intrinsics of the car that makes a CL-S a CL-S.
But I'm not selling it. I'm sure there will be days when I choose to drive it over the S2K (when it is snowing, bad traffic, etc), but I will get a S2K because it represents another form of driving fun that I will never get from the CL-S.
Regrets? No way! I love that CL-S. As I will and do love the S2K. They complement each other so nicely -- so fun to drive on different occasions -- that I will be fortunate to have both in my garage in the near future.
And that's my 2 cents on that.
