Put it this way... the S2000 is a notoriously difficult car to launch... It can be done stock at 13.7-13.8 with the right conditions and someone who knows how to launch it perfectly. Average driver probably does it in 14-14.2.

S2000 isn't a 0-60 or 1/4 mile car anyways. It's a track monster.
I agree...
and don't know about skidpad....but just from driving
the S and experiencing other sport cars over the years
the "slalom speed" in this car has to be freakish!

It just sticks like glue..have no idea of its limit...above
my driving skill!

Yea I figured it had to come down to variables such as weather, driver, etc.

I personally don't care for 0-60 times either as I don't track the car. It just struck me as odd that there was such a big gap in 0-60 & 1/4 times from year to year.

Still though, 14.2 for the average driver is a pretty decent 1/4 time considering that isn't where the "S" shines. =)

Kind of off topic but I think 0-60 in general is pretty meaningless....manufacturers sometimes set gearing specifically to register better 0-60 times (avoiding a 2nd to 3rd shift for example). I'd just enjoy your car and know it's as quick as any other MY.
This is true, I have yet to see a race that ended when cars hit 60 mph, but the value gives you an idea of how fast the car is. 1/4 mi times (or full mile times) and trap speeds are better at showing a car's speed and power because you can see how it builds serious speed and how fast it can go.
