A class act:)
I think you being young has little to do with it. If you go in dressing like a young dude, then what do you expect?
Especially with the economy flowin' pretty well in the last couple years, up here in Seattle, my experience has been great. A lot of my friends have not had problems with age discrimination either.
So unless you look like an elementary school kid, there shouldn't be a problem.
For those who have had negative experiences at dealerships, then advise your peers to first head into the place looking like a buyer who can afford a $30K+ car. I'm not talking a suit, but a nice Banana Republic stretch shirt with a clean pair of stone, flat-front khakis wouldn't hurt. Finish it off with a pair of Kenneth Coles. Not flashy, just smart.
You might say that shouldn't matter... but in doing business, yes it does. Alternative: flash the cash and tell 'em what you want.

The way I thought about it was if those f*ckhead salesmans didn't want my money then f'em. I'll go somehwere else, maybe its just my stubborn mindedness but if their gonna treat me like that because of the way I look, then f*ck it.
Although, if you did get treated badly at a dealership, send an email to them online and that gets reported to the managers usually and they'll give you some respect. I did this for an audi dealership and they called me back offerring a thousand off the 225hp TT. didn't take the deal, but that was, the manager apologized to me and everything, told me come in anytime and the car was mine.
Luckily I didn't get that souped-up bug looking car, but it did have a pretty cool interior.

Don't feel too bad, you young whipper-snappers. I'm 53 and dealers wouldn't let me test drive one, either. I finally got mine from a leasing company that let me drive it. Two days later it was sleeping in my garage!
