Class action suit against Honda
Hey everyone,
Here is an idea to ponder. Everyone that has a 2000 - 2001 S2000, I think we need to ALL get together and file a Class action suit against the safety of the rear window, you can't see out of them!...They suck.
What pisses me off is that you go and buy a $34,000 car, they put a junky plastic window in it, then not 1 year later they start putting a glass window in.
Either we all want NEW windows or swap them out at a limited $ amount for the new glass one.
What does everyone think?? Could we get any where with honda if we all got together?
Just an idea.

I do wish that would happen....however, Miata been out for so long without the glass rear.... I think someone must have though of or done it...but you never will hear the result....might be a tough one but I am totally support your idea.

That would be like a class action suit against Intel because you bought a computer just 3 years ago, that had a Pentium-2 300 processor, the fastest there was.
And look at it now, you can't even run a decent game on it!
And now they have processors 4x faster, and 1/2 the price!
SUE THEM!
NOT.....

How about buying the car at a premium price and find out a year later that it WILL NOT be discontinued but under "Limited" Production. I see PPL drive in them like it was a Del Sol.
Limited prod. is good but for a $34,000 car!? I can buy one,...wait I did ! Now a $75,000 Limit prod. like our Big Bro the NSX is reasonable but not S2000. I'm just a little bitter at car sales men right now. I probably paid their rent for a month easy!

I don't think such a suit woud be deemed to have merit. I hate like hell that I've got to put gas in my car, but I knew about that when I bought the car. Do I have grounds for a suit? I think not. Honda is actually trying to remedy the problem by putting the glass window in the '02.
Just because we bought the car knowing it had a plastic window, does not mean we could predict that the top design would fold and scratch in such a way that you can't see through it after less than a year.
My plastic windows is a clear as glass. You just need to take better care of your car.
Use Meguires plastic polish every 4 - 6 weeks and Plexus every week or two. Use a microfiber cloth like a miracle towel, not paper towels or rags.
This is standard maintenance for any car with a plastic rear window. This routine has been mentioned so many times that you've only yourself to blame if your window is cloudy.
