Just got my S2000 this past weekend. I have never owned a convertible before. Any recommendations on how to clean and protect the top? Which products do you use? I have read alot about the plastic window, but how about the top? Any suggestions? GaToR

i bought the porsche top cleaner, but have not used it on the top. had the car since august, and have never cleaned it. it as almost new since it lives under the boot. the only time it sees light is when the rest of the car is getting washed. by the way, i use the porsche top cleaner to wash the rest of the car. it is excellent for that! if i accidentally get a bit of water on the top it easily mops right off...

Hey Gator,

Do you live in Gainesville by chance? Or at least in Florida?

If you're gonna shampoo your top with Porsche shampoo,
don't forget to get the Porsche Top Conditioner. This will
make it water proof/repellent again!

You can also use 303 Fabric Protectant instead of the
Porsche Top Conditioner. Both are highly rated.

Basically all this and more can be found here

Scroll down and pick up a "megaroller" for the day to day dust...they are a sponsor.

I use the Mother's spray cleaning soap that is made for convertible tops made of PVC. Works great. I have a hand held fairly soft bristled brush that I use to do swirlies around the top and get it all sudsy...then I rinse and it looks terrific.

What ever you use, make sure to do this BEFORE you wash the rest of the car...(for obvious reasons)
