Default Cleaning inside of rear window

Okay, it is nearly four months since I took delivery of my beautiful new red 2002 S2000, and it was time to clear the foggy residues off the inside of the windshield. That is due to all the plasticizers in the new plastic materials evaporating and depositing on the glass. A little Windex and a paper towel, and it comes clean quite easily. Now I turn my attention to the neat little glass rear window [eat your hearts out, 2000-2001 model owners]. Can't figure out how to reach back there. I am 6 foot 2, not young, not skinny, and still a bit limited in flexibility due to the recent back surgery. Any suggestions - I even tried a partial lowering of the top, but the window vanishes into the folds of canvas almost immediately.

Hire a young, short, skinny and flexible woman to do it for you.

i think you need a contortionist to get back there. I think one would need to remove the airscreen and maybe the seats if you are over 6', as I think you need all that space to reach. otherwise, maybe its time to hire a shorter person to do those honors. good luck.

If you're able to, get on your knees on one seat and clean the opposite side of the window, then do the same from the other seat. That's what I have to do to clean my plastic window. It ain't easy, but it works.

Here's how I do it......sit in the drivers seat but with you feet out the door, use you left hand to clean the passanger side of the rear window. Then get out and go around to the passanger side sitting the same way as you did on the drivers side and use your right hand to get the window behind the driver's seat.I use a product called Invisible Glass I buy at Pep Boys,no streaks as long as you use a lint free towel.

I am about 6'1" and 210. Lower the windscreen and kneel on the seat cushions. I have no problems. Or hire a midget.

I find the hard part is spraying the cleaner on it without getting it on everything else and not getting a lung full.

I use Flyin Wedge's body position method and spray the Windex directly on my towel before going after the window. Another idea that I haven't tried yet will be to raise the top about half way to see if I can get at it easier that way.

Happy driving.

Wrap the paper towel around the back of your hand, holding the ends between your fingers. Spray the towel, not the window. The backhand method does the job.

Hehe! You think cleaning the glass rear window is hard? You should try polishing out the plastic one! I think I dislocated my shoulder doing that!

Since I don't have an 02, I'm not sure how the top folds down. With the plastic, I was able to get a lot more room to work by putting the top half way down. Hope this helps.
