Yeah, I have been looking for amber 7440 locally, and have yet to find them. Also there seam to be very few vendors on the net that have them either. I like the hyper white look (Legal in TX) but the blue IMO looks bad.

I have tried painting the Polarg M1 with a light coat of 500
degree engine paint. Let them dry for 24 hours and then put
one in a socket on the car to see how they do.

After a few seconds they started to smoke, not a good sign.

I let them smoke for a while but they did not stop smoking.
I thought the heat might just be curing them and they
would stip smoking. Although they did start to smoke less.

Don't want the smoke to mess up the inside of my headlights

What brand of high temp paint did you use?

It was Rustoleum - I got it at Home Depot for $5. It was rated at 1200 degrees. I haven't noticed any smoking yet...

Any chance you could take a picture with the lights on so we can see how much amber comes through?

Here's my car with the parking lights and turn signals on. Don't know if that works for you, but its the best picture I could get w/ my camera.

Wow, that looks great. I should be receiving my diffusors in the next week or so. Thanks for the tip I am definitely going to paint the bulbs.
