Default Clearing Headlight Quick Question

1. Can i use any type of silicone, or does it have to be the adhesive one they sell at the discount stores. I know they sell the big bottles at home depot for silicone for the house?

2. I also wanted to paint the black housing inside the color of the car, can i use normal red paint or does it need to be able to take high heat like engine paint. Should i put a clear coat?

3. What would be the best product to clean the inside and outside of the headlight to clear it up a bit.

Thanks for any help

1. Just about any silicone should be fine.

2. Plenty of people have painted hte inside portion. I think most have have it sprayed by a shop, it does get very hot.

3. Any cleaner should work, just make sure you dry it very well. Although I dont know why you would need to clean the inside of the light.

don't even touch in the inside of the headlight. It is soft and scratches very easily. Even with a microfiber towel, it will scratch. If you have to, dust it with a microfiber towel and warm water.

trust me, I learn this the hard way.

If you want the inserts to match the body, you should clear coat them after painting.
