Originally posted by Utah S2K Bake it with the ballasts in.....no problem. Use the "gospel thread" on the subject here; but increase your temperature about 10-20 degrees. Now comes the hard part. The recipe calls for putting the housings on a damp towel (precludes melting of the housing). This is the step a lot of folks have moisture induced in. They look dry but their not! Let the silicone dry 24 hours and then bake at 100 degrees for about an hour....no moisture. An alternative I have used on 3 impatient clearings is to run the headlights for about an hour with the turn signal bulbs out (sockets hanging loose). Any moisture is driven out the turn signal hole.
Good luck......and it will look awesome!

leave the towel out. be weary of the way you place your headlights on the rack and you'll be fine. the towel's just going to cause a mess and lengthen the time it takes to do a simple job. i did mine without any towels, and it worked out great.
Thanks for all the input fellas. I just baked everything (including the ballasts) and it worked fine. I used a ton of silicone to seal the housings. So far, I've had no problems with moisture entering headlights. Removing the front end and headlights was very easy. Getting the housings open.....another story. Well, after all that hassle, I'd have to say it was definitely worth it. Here's some pictures. I'm waiting for my clear side markers (on order from Rick's).
