Default clicking sound in the back

--- No this sound isn't the consequence of water on my discs ---

Having said that, I can explain what's annoying me at the moment :
- got my car serviced in france 2 weeks ago, and told the dealer that I had a repetitive and quite loud 'click' coming from my rear right wheel when doing manoeuvres at low speeds. The guy hopped into the car with me, heard the sound, said "old and loose brake pads, for sure".
- got my car back, drove straight to the south of france, but the sound was still here even with new pads.
- can't go back to the parisian dealership (I'm in London now), went to a UK dealer yesterday and he said it might be the differential, but that he couldn't take my car under warranty until I had it registered at Honda UK (obviously there are some defaults in the 'European UNION' still...).

Sorry if this has been discussed before.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? What is it?

Yes mine does the same and it's pissing me off. I know it's the diff but Honda claims that they are bulletproof. It's a clicking or clanking sound that occurs when you start to move at low speed especially of you are making a turn. right's a problem more than lefts. That may be due to driving on the right and having closer right turns. It happens in 1st and R.

EXACTLY!
you described it perfectly. It's really annoying, and it has gotten worse in the last few months for me, now it happens each time I start from still, in 1st and reverse, and quite frankly it sounds as if my toy was broken.
Hopefully warranty covers this. C3, have you talked to your dealer?

le car,

It's definitely the differential. I only hear this clicking/ringing sound when I make u-turns. hopefully, it won't get any worse for me.

Are you able to count the number of seperate "clicks" for each rotation of the wheel?

I've got it too! After 16K miles, it just started about 2 weeks ago. First, just on slow sharp right turns. Then I started hearing it on straight line acceleration from a stop. Now its getting louder (still haven't heard it on left turns).

I posted this a while back and someone said that the dealer resolved their problem by removing the axle and greasing the bearings.

I'm about 2K miles from my next oil change, so I'm going to wait until then to have it checked out. If anyone goes for repair before then, let us know.

This really ticks me off because this car has never been driven hard, powershifted, etc.

Only clicking I've had was when the car was new and making tight slow turns. I assumed it was the limited-slip, since I've heard that before on other vehicles after installing new limited-slip diff's. No more noise after a few hundred miles, and none at my current mileage of 27,500.

I seem to remember that these noises are caused by the LSD and were deemed to be normal. The U-turn comment is what made me remember the former threads about this. I haven't noticed this noise, I might add.

I have this, a very high pitched metalic clink when I reverse and stop, and tons of clicking. Like I'm running over something. It started not to long ago and it's getting worse, how can this be normal?

Is there any danger to taking this car on a trip? The dealer said they didn't hear it when they messed with it.
