Default Clicking from the top when closed

I have a clicking sound coming from the top - sounds as if its coming from where the top meets the window frame...

I've done a search and there is a fix for a clicking top sound that comes from where links in the top mechanism are making contact - that's not the sound I have.

Anyone else have this & anyone have a solution?

thanks

i also have a ticking/clicking noise when the top is up, and it is more noticable when the driver side window is DOWN. i did the TSB where you apply the shin-etsu grease to the seals and striker, but there was one fix that i left out(because i was lazy). it had to do with cutting out pieces of EPT sealer and placing it under the strikers. i think the noise would disappear if i did the last step. i will definately do this last step as soon as i find some ept sealer at work.

I have an awful rattle on my HT above my head. The strikers keep comming loose. Last time I tightened them with locktite and an impact screwdriver. Gonna check it out again tommoro. Those things are really starting to piss me off. I have had the same trouble time and time again with the HT. I think the honda dealership neglected to change out the strikers when they installed the HT. I wonder if they will give me a set and let me install them?

there was someone that found how to fix this prob. its amazing once i did it not one peep.

i forgot who it was. Humm how to explain this. On the passenger side if you look up there is a big screw. Well where that screw is where its making the ticking noise. If you look very carefully it is rubbing against another metal part against it. Open your top half way and look all around that area there should be a small wear mark. What you do is when the top is half way down, over that wear spot you apply felt tape. Available at your local sears or hardware store. get the thin piece of felt, cause a thick one wont fit since its very snug. I know this is somewhat hard to understand, even with the pics i had it was hard to see where the tape was suppose to go.

Ill try to find the link where there are pics and a explanation of where the tape goes.

i went out this morning and did WPS fix on the passenger side with a small piece of the fuzzy side of a velcro strip - no more than approx 4mm x 6mm - test drove with about four trips around the block and the clicking noise is gone - what seemed to be coming from the windshield frame was actually coming from those same links in the top mechanism.

thanks
