Default Clutch Buzz...?

I just got off the phone w/ the dealership. I took my car in because I have the clutch buzz. They diag'd the car and found it does have the issue (duh) but said it isn't covered by my certified honda warranty. They are currently trying to get authorization from the zone manager, but if he says know then other than going directly through Honda I am SOL.

I was under the impression that this would be fixed, did I misunderstand what I've read here or are they just trying to be cheap and not take care of it for me? I hope that isn't the case, but at this point Im not so impressed by my honda certified warranty.

Any comments?

The clutch buzz fix is a Techical Service Bulletin, NOT a warranty thing. They do this in most cases when the customer still has a factory warranty in place. A certified Honda warranty is not considered a factory warranty.
If you don't get it done for free, do it when you need a new clutch anyway. It's just a noise and has no adverse affects on the function of the clutch in any way.

Ok, thanks for the info. I figured I'd see if they'd take care of it. Maybe I can just go get my car back tonight. if they want to go 50/50 on it, is it worth $400 or should I just say screw it and get an aftermarket clutch when the time comes?

screw it and wait until you need a new clutch.. assuming you can stand the noise.

It comes up when de-celerating around 4000 rpms. It's most noticeable (to me at least) in 3rd gear.

This is up to you. Even an OEM clutch replacement can run you over a thousand bucks at the dealer. If they pay for any of it, do it. Your car is not that new and I'd imagine the clutch is not pristine, either. If you're going to do it on your own later, I would strongly suggest you go with at least the ACT heavy duty pressure plate. The rest can be OEM.

Ive kind of like the buzz now. With the top down its not bad, kind of reminds me of a street bike when you down shift at high RPM's.

With the top up though it gets a little loud.

Since i have only ever driven my S2K i do often wonder how it compares to others.

If the dealership offers to pay half or more. And you have over 30k miles i would get it done.
