So many people tearing up so many machines All this talk about clutch drops has got me wondering if what I'm doing is actually just that.

1st gear, clutch fully engaged at 2-3k per normal driving, rev to 8-9k, clutch quickly goes in, quick into 2nd (no grind on my little girl), clutch quickly goes out, repeat through all gears until vehicle attains light speed.

I've always assumed clutch dropping disengaging clutch, rev to 8-9k THEN quickly engaging clutch. Is this a correct assessment?

I don't want to kill my little girl, just give her a good ride, so I ask...

I've always understood a clutch drop as being conducted from a standstill in first gear at high rpm...

basically, you jump off the clutch at the high rpm, getting the back tires spinning...

I think you forgot to back-off the throttle as you jam the clutch to the floor. For the last little bit of speed, this would be correct, but it is harder on the clutch and drivetrain.

Not to mention dropping the clutch on every gear would make for a jerky ride

Then you would also sound like those old trucks with the shift kits in them that chirp the tires in 2nd and third...

LOL!
