Default clutch going?

The friction point seems to be moving higher and the pedal feel is changing. The travel to the floor is not as smooth and almost feels a bit sticky when fully depressed. It still grips ok though. Has anyone gone much more than 61k miles before changing the clutch?

Will it start to slip very gradually or suddenly. I will likely get the clutch package from hartopguy for 899.00. Has anyone had problems with this package? Do I need to buy anything not included in the package?

If it is clutch wear, it will start low and RAPIDLY get worse...the contact point going up and up is a definite sign.

Do you notice the Tach needle swing up higher than the actual revs you are driving at? If so your clutch is gonna go really really soon.

I changed my '02 clutch at around 60k miles, but that could be because I drive like crap. I think others have gone longer (although I'm sure there are plenty who changed it earlier as well).

Might also want to check your master and slave cylinders or change the clutch fluid. Would save you some cash if the problem turns out to be with one of those rather than the disk.

No slipping just yet, thanks for the replies. Any comments on the hartopguy clutch parts package for $899? What should labor cost?

I agree with cyber x. With what your describing, it sounds to me like you need to replace your fluid.. Thats an easy fix if its the problem...

I'll check or change the fluid but it seems that it is likely overdue anywyay with over 60k miles, has anyone gone much more than 60k?

60K is way low for clutch life IMO. I got 150K out of the factory clutch on my '84 Supra and that car was driven HARD!

Are these clutches really weak or what??

Yeah, it is a short life. I always thought it was designed that way, to be the weak spot in the drivetrain. A little too weak though I think. Nevermind your supra what about other s2000 clutch changes, lots of you must have more than 60k. cheers

Oh wow. I'm only at 15K and my clutch is already feeling noticeably softer. I shift good, no jerks or anything. Only burned my clutch twice since i've had it. Besides this, why is my clutch wearing so fast?
