Question Clutch is grabbing toward the bottom of push?

I got my 01 S a few months back. I was told by people that drove her that she may have a aftermarket clutch, but Ihave never confirmed that. Over the past few weeks the clutch pedal would grab a little after you engage the pedal all the way and feel grabby and sticky as you let off the pedal. This phenom would go away and at first I chalked it up to early morning weather or it being cold or overheated. But now the phenom is pretty much constant (started two days ago) and I am wondering if the clutch is going or the cable is being grabbed by something or it is failing -or something else.

When I was young I had a POS Imark manual that had a clutch cable that ate through the fire wall (WTF-I know). I am hoping this is not the case here.

I was clutch heavy as a driver until recently. I would always down shift instead of braking and I am in bumper to bumper traffic from time to time as this is my daily driver. For the past 2 months though I have been going neutral and coasting to a stop.

Please advise. I probably over clutched for too long.

Thanks
RoB

The S2000 uses a hydraulic system to actuate the clutch. there isn't a clutch cable.

The sticky clutch has been discussed a few times and more than one problem has been found to be the cause. I had the exact same symptoms you described and mine turned out to be a leaking slave cylinder. Others have found that lubricating the clutch fork solves the problem.
