Why so much work? I've done a couple clutch jobs on cars and can imagine a tech being able to do these jobs in 3-5hrs, maybe less depending on the car. Are there any things that make an S2000 tranny especially tough to drop?

The engine has to be lowered, but before that can happen, a whole bunch of stuff must be disconnected. Of course, when the job is done, all that stuff has to get re-connected.

Had the clutch replaced for the buzz TSB at about 30K miles. Had no issues and when it was pulled it looked great. Currently have 45K miles and no problems
Buzz? Can you be more specific?

I had the stock clutch on my AP1 when I got rid of it at close to 70,000 miles with no slippage. I drove very hard (18 tires over that time frame), but I learned to feather the clutch so that it wouldn't slip off a launch.

when i first bought my AP1, when i would downshift from 3rd to 2nd, or any downshift, when the shift was over and you were just going into 2nd the car would vibrate and it would sound horrible. youll notice it if you drive one without the TSB

Well I wouldn't characterize my driving as 'hard' I've launched the car a handful fo times when I first got it but haven't done so since (2+years). I don't ride the clutch (I don't think) but I do punch it often and shift quick occassionally when I am really accelarting. Clutch being replaced at 28,500. When I called one place to get a quote on labor they acted all surprised at the mileage and told me it should be under warranty if it is slipping that quickly...too bad they aren't the dealer!

my driving habits are sort-of aggressive. ive had a handful of launches, i vtec almost daily, shift quickly often, and drive the car daily (highway or not). im at 40k right now, and even though my clutch let out kinda late when i got it, its definately gotten higher since my driving. i still havent replaced it, im gonna wait until i REALLY need one. the only symptom i have is that it lets out really late, it doesnt slip.
