Default Coastal Metals

I placed an order for the Coastal Metals Clean Air Induction kit over three weeks ago.

The order still hasn't arrived, even after two phone estimates about the "estimated arrival date" have come and gone.

Does anyone have experience with this company? I haven't had any experience with this company, and the numbers on their website have ALL been disconnected. The package is three days overdue (from their second estimate).

If others are considering ordering, I'll post any resolution that I have when it happens. It COULD just be a coincidence that their numbers are disconnected, but I have a bad feeling about this. Fortunately, I used Discover, and they never let the customer down on this sort of issue...(at least that's what I've been told by several merchants that I know. They don't like to use Discover because they are often TOO pro-customer.)

Send a PM to "axcilla", he has been a long time member/owner, and board sponsor. I am sure this is just one of those oversights that happen. I know that when it happens, it is normally more then one thing that goes wrong, for the same person. I don't think there has ever been a thread about them that was not resovled quickly.

Here is his contact info:

I just ordered the front lip protector from them last week and got it a few days later.

I'd give it a few more days.

I ordered a center grill from them last year and it came right away. I've only heard good things about them. Good customer support.

I am glad to hear that others have had good experiences in the past. It makes me hope that this IS just several unfortunate problems during the same order.

I am concerned for several reasons.
1. I haven't dealt with this company before.
2. The order was placed 7/10/03 and charged that day, but I had to contact him a week and a half ago after hearing NOTHING about the order. He stated that he had to order more flanges, and that the order was delayed.
3. He JUST HAPPENED to get them in that day, and would be shipping it. It was due to arrive "mid-week" (THIS week, as in two to three days ago). Perhaps coincidental, but given the fact that it hasn't arrived, it gives me reason for concern about this coincidence...
4. All of the phone numbers on the website have been disconnected, including the ones that you listed above. I tried several times each just to make sure that I didn't dial them incorrectly.

I sent an e-mail about 12 hours before posting this thread, so to be fair, he hasn't really had time to respond yet. I would hope that if he wants to retain his credibility in this forum, he will reply quickly. Disconnected phone numbers don't do wonders for consumer confidence.

I'll contact axcilla. This is something that I think that the forum members need to find out about, whether it turns out to be an unfortunate delay in shipping AND in how long it took IN TRANSIT, or whether it turns out to be fraud from a previously reputable company.

Thanks for the replies. At least I know that there have been no problems in the past. I won't have to worry too much for now-OR contact Discover!

I ordered the front lip protector and it took about 4 weeks to get to me. I contacted them (via email) a couple of times. Response times were not the best but I got a free shirt from them for my troubles.

I'd order again.

I WOULD usually be patient (I have already waited 3 weeks), but this has been two missed arrival dates AND the phone disconnection makes me wonder about fraud.

I realize that there is probably a good explanation (maybe the phones are down in NC due to storms? Power outages? Etc.), but this is starting to worry me.

I have decided to go ahead and contact Discover since I haven't heard back in 24 hours on the e-mail request. Again, this could just be because it takes him longer to reply that would be my desire, but with all of the problems...

I'd warn anyone to not order from this company until they give me an explanation. There may be one, but:

Why are all three phone numbers (in different area codes) disconnected?
Why has he missed two estimated delivery dates?
Why don't I get a reply via e-mail? Especially if he knows that the phones are down. I'd expect that there would be more attention to e-mail at this point...

I am currently having a problem getting my credit card refunded for a returned car cover. FYI: the cover was returned unused 1 day after receipt, so there are no issues here other than a clean return. I have a record of delivery for the return and have tried contacting them repeatedly over the past month. No one has had the courtesy to return my call with an explanation. I don't mind and understand "things happen" but for them not to contact me is very frustrating. I'll keep you posted.
