which coil over set up???
BlueS200BOY,
This is my view and experience with the coilover for s2000. It's not what I have heard or what I have read.
First ask yourself if you are doing this for Dragracing, Auto-X or street racing. High spring rate does not mean the best coilover or does most expensive price tag. Sit inside a few cars with different coilovers will be the best way to determine this question. Make sure you sit inside the ones with stock wheels. Because aftermarket 18" and 17" with different tire will change the way the can respon and feel. IF the owners let you, try to drive some of them if you can.
I read some of the replies, one reply was saying Tein Leak, Tein Rust.
1. If Tein does leak, they have a parent company in the U.S. that will offer 1 year warranty on their kit along with full shock rebuild for $65. I had one of my customer blown one of his shock before. But it was within the 1 year. Tein rebuild it for no charge and no question asked. That is always a peace of mind when the warranty is a factor with high performance coilovers.
2. When a car, especially from eastcoast, with the high amount of snow, salt and sand. Could do a lot of damage to coilovers. Not just Tein. But so far, I drive my car daily, and I have the Tein coilover on my car. They are fine. NO RUST.
Also this is just something for your knowledge. It's not just because I'm a Tein distributor. In Japan where the Import Scene is so far ahead of us where from product demand to product knowledge. Tein is part of 90% sales of all coilovers. There's a reason for everything. And 1 year ago, almost every single car in the sports compact that attended the Ultimate road challenge was running Tein. From the 2 SP engineering supras to all the RX7. Their popularity go a long way. And it's not just political influence.
Now let's get back to the debate. I don't know much about Buddy Club or JIC. From what I have heard, Buddy Club is very hot on the east coast and JIC is a company on the rise. I can only hope you get more replies from those owners. But I really think coilover like spoon or mugen are more conservative. And we are in the market for a aggressive performance coilover.
Belowe are some more choices. In my opinions are some of the best that you left out. I'll just list them and for you to think about it.
Tein RA - Very popular
Tein CS - nice and comfortable if you are looking for a street set up
HKS Hyper Damper - the name said it all
Apexi N1 - one of the leader in Japan N1 endurance race in innovation for suspension
Tanabe Sustec Pro - I think they know a little something about suspension.
I'm sure there are more choices out there. If you need some advice. Feel free to call us.

see tein ra were my first choice, but then everyone started to say how they were just crap and it got me wondering. i live in fl no snow no salt. i also have18"s with bridgestoone potenza s-03's i want a ver aggressive ride, maybe close to overkill for the street but could hit the track all day long if i wanted too. and by things i read before this post tein seemed to offer that for me. i do know the buddy club racing specs are very nice. but i don't know much about them.
BlueS2000BOY, I'm suprised that not too many people have replied to this thread. Maybe that this is one of those tehnical and could lead to flame thread. That nobody like to opinion on it and next thing they get into a comparison flame. I think you should wait for more owners to reply and see how they like their coilovers. That is the best answer. I think you will be fine with the Tein RA. PM me if you are interested. I carry the Tein, HKS, Apexi, and JIC. If you are interested in the Buddy Club, I can't tell you much about them. I never doubt with them before.
Very good write up EVO. I totally agree with you. I have been in and driven a S2000 with the Tein RS setup and I must say if I could afford them I would get them, but I use my S2000 as a daily driver car (meaning 50 miles a day). I wanted something that has a nice ride yet I could still track it if I wanted to. I bought my set up 2 years ago when only Tein and Comptech was available. I am running the Comptech coilovers/ Koni adjustable shocks and to me its good enough for daily driving and hillside runs. I will admit the Tein felt firmer hitting turns going up and down hill. The Comptechs are no slouch either. But EVO is right, ask a few local members that have suspension setups and go for a ride with them... That is the best way... Then decide..
