i have heard a lot about gutting the stock intake of the car and simply getting a k&n air filter. i took apart the box and saw where i could cut out pieces of the intake to create more air flow that is less restricted. i assume that is what is meant. there is a piece that makes creates two compartments and there is a small "L" shaped duct that goes to the filter.

If i cut those out and get another filter, I assume that is what is meant by "gutting" the intake. I want to do something now while I am saving 300.00 for a cold air intake.

^ I agree. I had the stock replaced it with a FIPK than went back to stock then to CF cold air intake from e-autosports. and I liked the FIPK and the CF cold air intake better than the stock intake
