I didn't bring the car to Colgan yet thinking I might try the screen fix. It seems you would get the additional benefit of keeping some bugs off the lights, also.

I may still go over to Colgan. If so, I'll post the results.

REVS29K, why are you still an enthusiast and not an owner ?

Fix that!

I had S2K Dude's wife make this modification to my bra (that was a tough sell to MY wife ), and it works great. I'm very impressed with the quality of workmanship and how well it functions. I'll be driving up to Atlanta from south Florida next weekend and give it a very thorough test.

Joshua, thanks for the feedback. I'll make sure my wife sees your reply, she takes a lot of pride in her craftsmanship.

See you Sunday 8/12.

S2k dude,

All right already, I'm an owner!!

I've talked with Colgan a couple of times today. They now tell me there is a fix for the balooning problem. I asked how new the fix was because this is my second bra and is supposed to have been fixed already. He said there is another fix. He doesn't know if they will modify my bra or give me a new one. He's supposed to call back today or tomorrow and let me know.

I'll pass on the info.

I just got my new Colgan bra after I returned one in May. The fix for the balloning/flapping above the headlights that I experienced was some new stitching placed horizontally across the middle of the bra piece that's above the head lights. I didn't think this was much of a fix, but did the install, and on a high speed run between Phoenix and Tuscon 85 mph and up, I experience no balloning/flapping.

I don't know how long it will last but the fit seems very tight and from previous experience with a Colgan bra on a different car this should last for well beyond the warranty period of 5 years.

In my opinion, congrats to Colgan on a job well done, too bad it took more than one try though.

I just got my Colgan Bra yesterday. There is a pretty meaty strip running vertically across the light fixture. I believe it is covering the gap between the HID low beam and the amber flasher. Effectively there are two smaller holes for each light. I will borrow a friends digi cam and put the bra on and take a picture. Won't actually use the bra for a few days, but I'll report back on results.

I like S2k Dude's idea though, and am thinking about trying it for the grill opening too. Since my bra is for long road trips anyway, I figure reducing the bug intake on my grill can't hurt. Not sure about the feasability of this though!

I visited Colgan today and they gave me the new design for the bottom part of the bra. (The top part is the hood cover). As WestSideBilly said, there is a vertical strip now in the middle of the headlight opening. This should solve the problem. I don't know if it will interfere with the headlights, but will look when I put it on.

By the way, Colgan is very accomodating about this. No questions, they replaced the bra. Too bad this is the third try for me, but it hopefully will work.
