Thanks SlowDriver,

Believe it or not when I took this picture I had not waxed my car yet. I guess that just proves RED looks the best. Used Meguiar's gold classic (in picture below). I am about to order Zaino Z-1, Z-2, Z-6, Z-16, Z-18.

For me black was out of the question....I've owned sooo many black cars that I'm burned out trying to keep them swirl and scratch free. I looked at a red one and may have bought it but it also looked tough to keep clean so it was silver for me....very classy looking!

My 2 Cents

Every sports car on the road is red. Looks great but not original enough for a car like this

White is too bland...

Black is the best looking car if it's clean but if it's dirty it's also the ugliest

Ahhh....Silver! The classic bullet like roadster! It's certainly not very common, not bland at all and doesn't get that dirty look as easily as black. Silver is definitely the best!

Let me add though...we have S2000's and no matter what color you have they all look awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had a black Corvette, a Red '66 Mustang, a Wimbleton White '66 Mustang, 2 Black Fox Bodies (80's stangs), and a Green '98 Mustang GT Convertible with tan top...the white is a classy color - not too hard to keep up with, despite the rep...black shoes everything unless you maintain such an awesome paint surface that there is NOTHING to show...the exotic colours like green or yellow can be kewl in that they are unique (but green is of course not an option, and is overused since '94ish), and Red is just a ticket-teaser (3 years as a cop in Virginia and I can PROMISE you I would see and ticket the red car before any other colour...because it is just more likely to get your attention!)

Which brings me to my choice...the Silver if just absolutely SHARP - keeps the "bullet" feel of the car, shows off the lines, doesn't show off imperfections, and is just plain classy - this is IMHO, you understand - it really boils down to what you like (but if you go Silver, go black inside!)

Look at the silver up close on a real sunny day. As it is the only metalic paint it reflects like a mirror. On bright blue sky days it takes on a silver blue tint. A friend of mine who paints classic cars was amazed by the paint which he says is not really paint (as in pigment) at all but metal dust suspended in a clear acrylic binder (or something like that). He also showed me (look REAL close) the specks of white pearl in it also.

The Silver has the widest range between shadow and highlight and shows the lines better than any other color. It is the easiest to keep clean, will fade the least and hides imperfections (chips etc..) better than any other color.

It is also the official national racing color of Germany if that means anything to you. Red is the official national racing color for Italy, Blue for France, Green for England, White for Japan.

If you choose yellow, be sure you see it first.

I know many of the above posts say, "I fell in love with it when I saw it." I had the opposite reaction. I loved it from the pictures; but, when my dealer got one it, I inspected it and photographed it. I made the dealer shed some sunlight on it. No matter what, I couldn't like it. I kept thinking "Yellow Cab Yellow" and I couldn't really get the pearl to glisten.

To be fair, I never saw it with the delivery white plastic off. The dealer had sold it to a southern California http://www.s2000online.com member and was flat-bedding it to the owner unprepped, so I've never seen a Spa Yellow in its full glory.

If I were to choose a second choice after silver, it would be yellow; but, that's because I see lots of gorgeous yellows in pictures. When I was in the presence of a yellow, I didn't like it nearly as much as I had thought I would.

By the way, I've never seen anything but silver/red silver/black and yellow/white plastic/black in real life.

Barry's inflated three cents.

You know, funny as it seems, I agree with Barry's first impressions about the yellow - AND I BOUGHT YELLOW!!!

I first saw yellow in the showroom under artificial light - I was soooo set on getting yellow, but after I saw it, I didn't like it at all and changed my order to black. I never got he chance to see the yellow in the sun.

Well, I slept on my decision overnight and then called the dealer up and changed the order right smack back to yellow the following morning!!

I am SOOOO happy that I did. It has this amazing red pearl through the paint that absolutely gleams in the sun. It's not a flat taxi cab yellow as Barry puts it. I put a couple of coats of Zaino on it and now it gleams even more. I get so many people looking at my car, even coming up to compliment me and talk with me about it. Never a bad comment from anyone yet!

I also like the yellow as it is a 2001 color, so people know that is a new S2000. It is very easy to keep clean and resists scratches and marks unlike black. I also know of one other forum member that used to have a silverstone S2000 and sold it to buy a Yellow!

I have never once regretted buying the yellow. I absolutely LOVE it!

Having said that, if I could have bought white with the black interior, that would have been my second choice. I also really like the silverstone, but NOT the red.

The choice is yours.....you have to make up your own mind though!

Cheers,

No fooling. I am truly jealous now.

I don't have it in me to switch, even in spite of my engine problems: silver hard top coming this week and all.

But I think I would love Spa Yellow Pearl.
