Which color costs more?

Those in the automobile insurance business deny they're charging more to insure red cars than comparable vehicles of other colors, and this would not be the case if red cars were more likely to be stolen or involved in accidents. Regarding the belief that a vehicle's color drives up its insurance premiums, says Jeanne Salvatore, vice president for consumer affairs for the Insurance Information Institute in New York City: "It's not the color, it's your driving record." She's never heard of any insurance company charging more for red cars. However, rates are often higher for sports cars of any color, as they are more expensive to buy and repair and are stolen more often.
I would guess that custom pearl/mystic type paint jobs could increase the cost of your insurance premiums (due to the cost of having to repaint a car or body panel), but with any of the OEM colors I don't think there will be a difference. I know that I've never been asked what color any of my vehicles are when getting insurance, though I suppose that data may be able to be decoded from the VIN.

Yellow is the least stolen color for any car. 2% in North America. Could be resale is low, thieves don't want to be seen in an easy to spot car, and fewer cars available to be stolen of that color.
However, it is generally believed insurance rates won't be affected.
The S2000 rate of theft is pretty low, 2 or 3 thefts a year but it seems to me to be higher from comments I read on forums.
