Default Color Fade

Has anyone noticed any fading in their paint from excessive sun exposure? I'm sure this could be more directed towards AP1 owners but anyone can answer. I know in the past car colors such as reds and blacks can fade out in the sun after several years and was wondering if anyone can see that happening in their S.

I'm sure everyone here waxes at least twice a month so that probably protects your paint!!!

Thanks

Just as you said...As long as you wax it, your paint should be okay. I have seen some that are faded, and obviously that was due to their lack of care. You shouldn't worry about this unless you don't plan on taking care of it.

I'm just not sure what color to buy. I've always bought silver cars for their superiority to other colors in terms of lasting beauty, resistance to swirl mark appearance, etc. I feel with something as special as the S that I should venture off to get something else for an outside color. I was thinking Silverstone/CHicane with red leather. But Red/Black looks nice too.

I'm hoping that Silver comes back in 09! THen I'd consider Silver with Red interior.

I'm pretty sure you are aware of how different colors look in terms of having dirt, swirls, etc.. Also, the amount of care each color will need to keep it looking good. So based on those things, make your decision on how much care you can give to keep the color looking fresh. Obviously, silver being the easiest and black being the hardest.

But white doesn't have metallic, either.......part of the beauty of the other colors.......White is classy, though, especially in the S!

Red is awful for fading. My seats so far havent seemed to fade though (01). I can't comment on my paint because it was resprayed a different black with four pearls about 2 years ago.
