Hey i am very interested on this mod, only problem being is that being 17 years old with an s2000 money is at next to nill( and will be for some time to come)(not to mention prom is comming so thats more money) but as far as what display goes, i am not sure if many of you have heard of it but the GameBoy Advanced was realesed in Japan just yesterday. The display it uses is ridiculously cheap for the performance you get out of it.( I bought one off of ebay and got it in today and the display is phenomnal) but its not back lit but you could add your own. but hey as soon as you get an estimate you can bet that i will start saving!!!

Very inovative idea.... Any thought to the fact that we have convertables and would not be able to see the screen during the day with the glare? At night it would look really cool though.. Just my loose wandering thoughts...

I don't think this will work. The reason is the display shows the mode (CD, radio) as well as accepting input. If you change the mode at the head unit the LCD has no way of knowing this. For example, say the LCD shows CD mode. Pressing the FM button on the head unit would switch the radio to FM but the LCD would still be showing CD. The manual controls work because they do not attempt to show the current mode (CD, radio) to the user.
