i plan on changing the h/u ..i know iam going to loose the dash control really dont want to spend the extra$ for dci or any extra controller for the dash
my main concern is when i decide to go back to stock later on... and plug everything back
to original will the dash controls still work or do i need to reset something?

Just plug it back in and everything should work fine. You will just need your radio security code. No need to reset anything.
