I have the smoked side markers on my berlina black and am very happy with it. Which ever route you do go however make sure to pick up a set of matching diffusers to give the car a clean look. Smoked JDM headlight diffusers flow really well with the black housing and the color of the car.

I'm running the clear sidemarkers, and getting the JDM clear diffusers installed next week. Clear stands out more on a black car and adds a little bit of spice to a dark exterior.

If I'm not mistaken, you have an AP2. I think the OEM ones look better than clear or smoked because of the amber mini diffusers in the AP2 headlights. But if you must change, I vote for smoke.. as long as they don't turn purple-ish like Rick's smoked USDM diffusers.
