Default Colors: which ones are durable & easy to maintain?

Trying to decide which color MY04 I should get. I am wondering if there are certain colors I should avoid if I don't want wash my car every week or two (...I know some of you want to shoot me). Currently or in the past, I've had white, red, and black cars. I really liked having my 87 Conquest in Red which I did not have to wash often, and it still looked fairly clean. My Black Integra I have to wash every week to keep looking clean, and then the smallest scratch stands out like a sore thumb, and the car got really hot during the summer. My White Corolla also did not do well between washes.

So I'm thinking of getting Formula Red. But I also like the Rio Yellow from an aesthetic standpoint, but I wonder if the light color will look dirty really quickly like my White Corolla. Any thoughts?

I would also expect the Silvers to "hide" the dirt and unavoidable scratches better (maybe Suzuka Blue too?). Are these assumptions correct?

Also, which ones are the most durable over time? I know red inherently fades in the sun over time, while white rejects sunlight the best. Metallic paint, at least when I last bought a car 9 years ago, were known to get dull or "cloudy" in the sun over time.

Your thoughts and experiences are appreciated.

Personally, I'm a metallic fan. My top favs for the S are the silvers and Suzuka Blue. All 3 cars I have owned had metallic paint and I find that they do hide the grime and small scratches a bit better than flat colors, like red, black and white. My first car, a 1990 Nissan 240SX, was champagne pearl. It was almost 10 years ago and had 160k miles on it when I sold it and it still, IMO, looked like it just came off the lot. Granted, I babied it, just like I've babied all my cars, but I don't think metallics fade or dull over time if you're taking care of the car.

Just pick the color you like. If I was buying a new car, I'd hate to "settle" for a color simply because it hides dirt and defects better than another.

Go for whatever color you like, just take care of it appropriately. I knew what I was in for when I got black. The best shine when clean!

But for the topic, silvers hold up the best hands down it seems.

i have Sebring silver and a black TL type "S". Silver is very low maintainance esp when compared to a black car. I will say black red and other cars look great when really detailed but unless you can keep your car looking like that all the time silver or silverstone are great colors... aways clean even when dirty!

AN ADDED PLUS IS EVERYONE KNOWS HOW FAST SILVER CARS GO!

You'll see people who own spa, red, black and others despite this but it's only because they don't have a silver car.

i went to but coffee the other day, guy in a black "S" pulls in behind me. We left and he said he never had driven a silver one before and was drooling over how fast it would be. I told him lets trade cars, pull off at the next light and we'll trade back. The guy said...

I DRIVE A BLACK "S" AND THEREFOR KNOW FROM WHERE I SPEAK, THIS SILVER CAR GOES WAAAAY FASTER...

Silverstone easiest to maintain.

If you want to hide swirls, I think Yellow and Silverstone and probably white hide them the best.

Red isn't too bad either, but the S2000 red is flat and fairly dark so you can see swirls on it easy enough.
