Coming to USA to buy S2000
Hi everybody this is my first post.
I live in Athens Greece and plan on coming to the USA this summer to buyand ship an S2000 back to athens. The S2000 costs a whopping 50,000 Euros here. It costs half of that amount in the States. With only 25,000 Euros converted to $ I can buy the S2000 in the States and ship it back. Cars are incredibly expensive here. Since I was born and have lived more than 7 years in the States, I can bring any car tax free from the States back home. I think it's a golden opportunity to finally have the car I have dreamed of owning. This is the first time I'm attemting something like this. I'm also not sure if I will be granted a loan that will cover the whole cost of the car without having some kind of lease on it. I just need some advice. I will be going to Boston where my brother lives. I don't want a used S2000 but I don;t mind having the previous model as long as it's brand new. Does anybody know how much shipping would cost? SI've heard somewhere around 2,500 dollars.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Forget about getting a loan, unless you arrange it in Greece. No American dealer or bank will give a non-resident a car loan.
As far as shipping it, I've heard that Newark, NJ to Rotterdam is not too bad. You could drive home from there
Here's a site you could check out for rates...

I'm getting the loan here in Greece I'm just not sure if I will be able to secure a loan for the full amount : 25,000 euros = 30,000 dollars. Even if I get a loan for 15,000 euros my parents should be able to help me with the rest somehow. What I'm curious about is what if I'm say 5,000 dollars short? Can that amount be leased through my brother or my father who has an account at a USA bank? I must know these things before I go ahead. If I do succeed I think it's worth it.
I can't bring a tax free car from Germany-only from the US.

Be careful about over-extending yourself on this car or any car for that matter, I am not sure if all of this piecemeal financing is going to work unless you can bring the $32,000 to the dealer no strings attached...
Whatever you do behind the scenes is up to you, all they care is that they get their money when you drive it off the lot because they know they'll probably never see you again.

the loan/lease is one thing....another more important thing is that all the warranty will be through AHM....you need to look into whether this can be transferred to Honda Europe, and whether than will mean you will go back to a 1yr warranty or something.
this is a huge thing you are jumping into - you need to do your homework.
