I was wondering if anyone has a Comptech Cold Air Intake installed on their S2K.

If so, are you happy with it?

I have a MY04.

I just checked and comptech does not have a cold air intake designed for an MY04.

Does anyone know if the one comptech has for the MY00-03 is compatible for the MY04 as well?

Are there other Cold Air Intakes I should consider ?

Thanks in advance.

i think your making a good choice. the comptech cai just bolts in. their is no cutting, all you have to do is relocate the horn, but for an 04 im not sure. the good part about it is that it doesn;t decrease throtle response, and their is no chance of hydrolock

I don't know if the Comptech will fit the '04, but I am reasonably pleased with it on my '01. That said, I do have a couple of complaints:

The supplied airbox mounting bolts are too short. If Comptech had given another 1/4" or even 1/8", installation would have been much easier. Fortunately, one of the stock airbox mounting bracket bolts is just the right length and can be used for the fender mount. That's the trickiest one IMO.

The screws for the carbon fiber cover vibrate loose after a couple weeks. A little blue loctite fixes that, and should still be removable (crossed fingers).

Aside from that, I'm fairly pleased with it.

Hydrolock is when the engine draws in water, from a puddle or whatever. Since water cannot compress, and if there's enough of it, it will "lock" the engine and do megga damage.
