Default Comptech cold air intake and water???

I remember reading on the board that someone said they would get water in their comptech cold air intake box. Is this true? I have a comptech cold air intake but have not installed it yet becasue of this reason. If water does get in the box would it get sucked up and casue hydrolock? I don't think it matters what year S2000 the intake is on but I have a 2004 S2000. Also is the comptech air filter that came with my intake a good filter? Thanks

It will never hydrolock unless you drive into water up to your head light level. Filters good so far.

Would anyone be willing to help me that lives near by (say Jax or Daytona, maybe even Orlando)? I would be willing to drive to where ever to get installation help. Or does anyone know of a good shot in my area that would let me watch them install the intake (so I can learn a little bit). Thanks

Try to look for help in the local forums. I will install it for you but I live in Largo and that's a bit of a drive for you. Good luck!

I've had my CompTech CAI for 3 years and 60k miles and have never had any problems with hydrolock. And it does rain just a bit here in Houston. For it to hydrolock, you would have to drive in water halfway up your door.

Highly recommend it!
