Default COMPTECH ICE BOX, YOUR THOUGHTS?

Hey guys.. I am in the market for an intake for the S. I have been looking at the Comtech Ice box however, It seems like the stock box as far as its design. There is no cold air snorkel of any kind going into the fender or bumper. On the top of the carbon fiber box there is a enlongated hole I guess for design ...

Wont that pretty much make that intake a hot air intake, since the box is not totally sealed?

Is this a good intake?

I was also looking at the spoon air duct, I just want to make sure I am getting cool air to the intake more so than the stock setup.

The hole on the top is for the hood prop rod - not just design.
The Comptech does pull air from the fender and the sound at VTEC is great.
I am very satisfied with my Comptech intake. Just remove the fastener for the heat pad on the hood right over the box - it will rub/vibrate/mar the carbon lid.

I have seen them not doing too well on the dyno before... But that was only about 2 or 3 I saw. Not enough obviously to draw a conclusion.

yeah...

I was also thinking of utilizing the Spoon air duct with my stock box and a drop in filter to get that perfect seal and cold air draw... any thoughts on the Spoon product.

I have the Comptech intake and am very happy with it. It sounds nice and I noticed an improvement in mid-range power and throttle response.
