According to the companies' own dyno plots, the K&N adds about 10hp at the vtec crossover with no peak gain, while the comptech gives about 5 hp more than stock peak. The K&N will be louder than the comptech. The comptech is more expensive and arguably looks better. The K&N couples nicely with the AUT cooling panel and/or cold air snorkel, while the comptech pulls cold air through a "hole" on the side of the engine bay.

I would suggest snorkel and filter element. I think the ram air effect of the snorkel is highly understated

Personally I like the comptech but it does rub a bit even with hood strus. No biggie, just marks the carbon fiber a bit.

just got my comptech intake a little while back. the new comptech intake does not rub for me at all and requires no cutting on the hood prop. its shaped differently. its a little louder id say then with the lid off the stock airbox.

I thought the comptech was supposed to be only a little louder than stock?

Another vote for the K&N... I bought it from another board member a couple weeks ago. Ive been loving it ever since. The only negative effect is Me driving a lot faster now b/c I love the sound of the intake. VROOOM

Ill try to find a pic of it, but the comptech that i recieved in the mail about a month ago fits the hood prop perfectly...The cutout for it looks different from all of the other ones ive seen..Maybe they re-designed it?? Sounds Great btw, but the pants dyno didnt feel too much.
