Comptech vs Invidia Exhaust
I'm deciding between either a comptech or Invidia exhaust. I've heard clips for the Invidia but not on the comptech. I'm not to focused on sound but something low and throaty is always what is wanted. Also if you have any info interms of which is better on performance that would be great. Thanks in advance!!
low and throaty, I'd go with Spugen .. <http://www.teamspugen.com/store.html>
but comptech is fairly low.. hear for yourself

The invidia is low at low rpm's , it gets to a wonderful high pitch sound when in VTEC similar to the spoon N1.

I think the spugen guys are great and I hope they get your business but to address your question I recently sold my Comptech and I think it was one of the best sounding exhausts for this car - great throaty sound below vtec and a nice growl after! I have seen and heard a few invidias and they are nice just not what I wanted! I see quite a few Invidias being sold but not comptech's for what it is worth!
Comptech sounds good at high rpm. Invidia is very loud below 5krpm....Invidia has a bad droning sound when you back off gas pedal at 3.5krpm. Invidia sounds throaty down low compare to the Comptech. As for performance you'll gain very little. Invidia dyno proven to give you 3.5 to 5 HP but are you really going to feel the difference with 5HP gain??? Btw Invidia sounds very loud inside compare to outside or the sound clip you heard on the websit.
I have Comptech CAI and Invidia exhaust. To me Invidia is the best looking exhaust for S2K. The whole exhaust is shining chrome and all stainless steel!! Too bad it has a bad droning sound otherwise it's the perfect exhaust for S2K. I'm thinking about going back to stock because it drones badly when you back off the gas and it's just too loud.... attract too much attention and i'm getting too old for this!! If you want come take a test drive. I'm in the Bay area!

I personally really like the looks of the Comptech. It's not the lightest and certainly doesn't net much of a hp gain (something like 3hp at most) but I just love the look and sound of it. Comptech gets my vote.

As the new owner of nzaizar's Comptech, I gotta say it will probably meet your needs. (Thanks, again, Nick!)
The CompTech looks great. It sounds great too, with a nice deep rumble pre-VTEC and a mean groan after... Actually not too much different than stock over 6K RPMs, IMHO. I'm still getting used to mine, but so far:
It definitely a big change from stock, esp. low in the RPM band. It's certainly not obnoxious, but it's much louder inside the cabin. (In a good, deep, throaty kind of way). Throttle response feels good with it, and there's not toooo much of a low-RPM drone. Seems a little "bassy" in the 2-4K RPM range to me, but again, I'm getting used to it, and it certainly isn't offensive.
From outside, the car sounds wonderful! I've had compliments from my pal with a 2002 35th Anny SS, and that's a sound I respect.
Sound files for the CompTech give you an IDEA, at best, of what it will sound like. Best to hear it for yourself, if possible.
Craftsmanship is superb, although it's not a lightweight endeavor...
Good luck, and let us know!!

invidia is very, very deep sounding and loud. i only heard it from the outside so i have no idea how its like inside while driving.
comptech exhaust is defnately tamer and has a high-tech, tuned exhaust note like the mugen sport exhaust,
