Default Comptech VS Vortech

Hi

I want to buy a supercharger for my S2K

Some say Comptech, some say Vortech
Which is better, I hear the Vortech can damage the motor and the Comptech is safer.

I also hear the Vortech gets a little noisy after a while

Those of you who have please feel free to comment.
I need an unbiased comment

Thanks
Sean

They both can be noisy because they are centrifugal and the gears in the SC are not quiet. They arent took loud though. Vortech is less expensive with the aftercooler and produces higher #s without upgrade. It also does run 7 psi and the Comptech runs 6 psi. The Vortech and Comptech both CAN harm your engine. Neither are necessarily more likely than either. There is a thread that has beaten this to death.

I think the Comptech looks nicer and is of better quality, but it does cost about $1000 more. Supposedly the Comptech is easier to install too due to the oil return line.

it all depends on what kit you think looks better, the both pretty much are the same kit, but the Comptech is easier to install but on the other hand the Vortec gives more HP numbers...

Highlighter is referring to a positive displacement supercharger (roots or lysholm). None are currently on the market for S2000 application.
