Default Comptech's supercharged s2000

hard to believe that they can get 290+ HP but very little increase in 0-60 times :

13.8, I'm guessing they didn't launch the car.

That's what they wrote under the article, but it doesn't make sense...Sev achieved the 1/4 mile in his STOCK S2000 at 13.83 secs... I think it should be around in the high 12secs or low 13

0-60 IN 5.7? i get my stock getting there in 5.2 and with supercharger would have to make it better...tho who knows we dont know what the driver did...maybe he took off at idling...LOL, or just took off at too high rpm's and had too much wheel spin. but ofr 1/4 mile easy high 12's mid 12's if u get a really nice start and smooth gear shifts

Yeah, they probably didn't launch it at high revs.
Last time I was up there, Shad took me for a ride in their S2K with 8 psi and their pre-developed aftercooler! According to my "butt-dyno", that thing pulls hard! But he doesn't launch it at high revs, just normally but flooring it after it gets going hitting the rev limiter the first couple of shifts. Let's just say it does this to me!!!!

Before buying the Comptech SC I also stopped by and took a ride with Shad. He did not launch at high rpm. He would do a normal (stoplight like start) and immediately put it to the floor. Launching a SCed S is even harder than launching a stock one (my opinion and experience) because if you aren't careful the rev limiter is hit immediately or the tires smoke. First and second gears are tricky because from 7 to 9 thousand, the engine accelerates very quickly - hard to shift at exactly 9,200 (limiter). It's still fun!

What are the side effects / benefits of the S.C.? I'm interested in anything from gas milage to engine wear.

Thanks,
David
