Anyone own or previsously owned comtech intake on ur s2000? i've been thinkin on wat intake to get, and many people (honda owners generally) have been telling me i should try to comtech.. any opinions??

 

It's a good piece. Nice sound, no risk of hydrolock, looks nice. I heard that Comptech is back in business so you might be able to get a new one, instead of scouring the used market.

 

I heard the carbon fiber shield fits like crap, the K&N FIPK could be another option.

 

I've heard the same from many people. It hits the hood and gets all cratched.

 

i run the comptech without a box at all.

 

now that i have the FIPK i'd rather the comptech. there were some fitment issues with my FIPK and it heatsoaks like crazy when it's hot outside. i've heard heatsoak on the comptech is less.

 

The Comptech is a pain to install and the instructions suck, but I love mine. The cf top is a little scratched from the hood rubbing, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Sounds really good in VTEC too.

 

I own it. Right before they went out of business or what not they changed the lid design i believe to get rid of the rubbing issue. mine does not rub at all. directions are a bit out there at times but other than that I like mine. Minor flaws in the carbon fiber cover and all but other than that its great.
