Confidence Lost
It took me a good 6 month's to learn how to drive this car aggressively. I have some decent driving experience and consider my skills above average in both front and rear wheel drive cars.
This car can be a handfull - when pushed.
I have tested the limits, found them, and exceeded them in an open lot just to learn more.
When I get too loose on the street, it takes about a week for me to start hitting it hard again.
I think its okay to ease off. It shows that your brain is still switched on.
Just take a little more each time, and you'll get back that lovin' feelin'.

I also drive a little less video game-ish after spinning the car out on the street. I was making a left through an intersection just a wee bit hot, and ended up spinning out and making a U-turn instead. It was somewhat amusing at the time since no one got hurt, but I do take it much easier since that incident.
I would be curious to know if the 04' is a little less prone to step out than previous MY's. A spin, especially on a public road can really take it out of you.
The other thing I hear a lot is about the S02's. I would think you guys have tried lots of different tires by now, are these the best tires for the S2000? I know on my street bike tires, actually they were race compound, but even though they appeared to have tread they had been heat cycled to many times which affects the grip of the tire. Someone else with a little more knowledge could probably explain it, but I wonder if that is part of the reason the SO2's seem to fade even with decent tread showing.

jeez... all this talk about spinning it out is scaring me
i mean... is it really THAT easy to spin out? with all this talk about the s being such a balanced and "handling" car, i would think it takes a bit of way TOO aggressive driving. i mean, is it that you guys snap the wheel that hard or is the s that easy to spin out making a right/left hand turn at an intersection? i'm asking all this cuz i have yet to drive such a performance car. (hopefully i'll be getting an s in 2 years
with hardtop of course ;D)
but yeah. can you guys give me a better picture of what it is that causes you excellent, mature drivers to lose control?
i'm starting to get this image in my head where the s is gonna spin out on me while doing 80 on the freeway, making a quick lane change. basically... it's scaring me. haha. i've driven a minivan at 17 and have had an integra since this summer, (but have only driven it 2 months out of the 5 that i've owned it due to theft -_- it's an integra w/ leather seats. i had it coming~) so i've never had to worry about losing the car while driving it. they're very tame as you guys might've guessed. -_-
and are there any classes that you guys would recommend i take to learn about the car or do you think i'll be fine learning about the car myself one spin out at a time?
thanks in advance.
(sorry if i'm "hijacking" the thread. i didn't think that something like this would be worthy of its own thread. so just 1 useful reply would be nice.
)
