Yes, you should be given some credits for accepting that you paid too much for 2001 with more than 40k miles.
More than 140 mph on public highway is too un-safe even at middle of the night. You will not get any credit for this.

Where did you do 148mph at? I sometimes go to Germany for work and the fastest I ever went was a measly 229 KPH in a Mercedes C230 kompressor on the A5 or A6. Ummm 25K for a used 2001 is pretty dang high. I just bought a new 2005 in the DC/NOVA area for 31669 out the door. Anyway forget about what you paid and enjoy the car.
