I have only had my S2K a few weeks. I had my head under the passenger side dash and noticed some strange things.

There is a few inches of exposed foam rubber starting just behind the knee rest and running under the front edge of the passenger side dash. You can see it quite easily. Should there be a cover for this?

In front of the foam rubber there is a grey plastic electrical connector about 1" long and "D" shaped. You need to get near the floor to see this as it is recessed a little. What is this for? Again, shouldn't there be a body panel to cover this?

Thanks,
Mark

You mean these ones?

I believe they are diagnostics connections.

You probably won't either. This is a picture from a right-hand drive model from Australia. Try the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual, page 201-12, picture # 73

You're talking about the OBD-2 connector. Check out http://www.obd-2.com/ for a cheap option on how to get data from it. I have one of these from a group buy on clubsi ($79) and it was well worth it. It'll let you reset check engine lights, and pull info from anything that the ECU can read.

devi0us: There is some pretty cool stuff there. Have you contacted them for a possible group buy?
