cons for using CAI? first time doin mods
From what I've read the bypass valve negates any power gains for the AEM CAI. For present and future AEM users:

This is the 2nd AEM CAI hydrolock story that I have read. Don't know if something else was the cause but it is still a concern. DragonDropTop also hydrolocked his car due to an AEM CAI.
Another CAI you might want to consider is the PRM, it is a different design than the Spoon or AEM and probably least likely to hydrolock.

VERY few people have hydrolocked their engine here, and you'll see that when you separate out the threads claiming "I heard of a guy who..." or "Didn't a bunch of people post about locking...".

I had an AEM CAI on my 2000 Civic and my 2002 RSX. Civic went thru an entire winter with the CAI, RSX went thru a fairly rainy period.
The big thing you need to do is simply pay attention to where you are driving. You need to try and avoid large puddles. And if you can't, put the car in neutral and don't rev your engine.
You just need to be careful!
