Default Considering to purchase S

Hi guys.
I'm currently driving 01 IS300.
I'm thinking to get rid of mine and buy S2000.
IS300 is fine, since i have owned the car, it never made any problem, but insurance cost is too high and eat too much gas.
Should I do that?
Is there anybody came from IS to S2000?

Honda S2000 insurance is fairly high as well. You might want to find out from your insurance agent how much it would cost you before you make that decision.

S2000 insurance will probably be a good bit higher, especially if you're under 25.

If you're selling the IS to lower insurance and increase gas mileage, one of the last cars you should be looking at is the S2000.

I get 23 mpg

I pay $3550 a year for insurance

It not a good move if you are complaining about your insurances and gas. Because the s2000 isn't any better and is probably worse.

I'm over 40 years old, married, and always seem to have at least one speeding ticket on my record. My first quote for S2K full coverage insurance ($500/$500 deductible) from Farmers for my car in SoCal was $220.00 per month.

Even with the S2K's claim history, and it being a relatively expensive to repair "High Performance" vehicle, this seemed like a lot of $$$ for an old man like me.

So we shopped around, and switched all our insurance (umbrella policy) to All State, and now I'm paying about $90 month for the S2K - which is OK for me.

Credit history, Driving Record, Marital Status and Age, as well as your ZIP code will all figure into what you will pay for insurance... Shop Around!

You have high insurance and gas prices with a luxury sedan, so you think switching to a high performance roadster is going to HELP that? The S2000 on average is the 7th most expensive car to insure. I doubt the IS300 is higher than 7th. Also, it gets around 22-25mpg average if you do much city driving. If you want something cheap on insurance and gas, buy a Cobalt.

lol. My ANNUAL insurance is about what you pay for 2 months. My insurance is just a smidge under $500/year through State Farm. Granted, I'm only insuring it for 9 months per year and I have 2 other vehicle policies through them along with a homeowner's policy. Everyone seems to always address the insurance costs for the s2000, but they're really not much more or less than any other vehicle I've driven.

25 years old fwiw.

Yeah well there you go, 3 vehicles plus homeowners will do it. I live in a condo and am under a blanket policy so im only insuring contents through a different company and the S2000 is my daily driver here in sunny arizona its insured all year

22 years old decent record.
