Coming from a sedan, make sure you can live with the "lost" of space.

Yeah, seriously. I'm selling mine soon cause it's just not fast enough, but other than that the car is fantastic.

I don't think S would be in your choice.
I average 19 mpg and pay $2400 a year for the insurance.
If you granny the car you will get +26mpg though.

I don't granny my car at all, and I still AVERAGE 26+ MPG most of the time; granted, much of my commute is highway with cruise control enabled, but it still includes healthy doses of VTEC on long freeway on ramps, or when gear jamming through the curves.

You need to do a 180 from the IS and not goto the S.
