i got my 07 for 31k. Like stated above, NOBODY pays MSRP for the s2k because it's simply not selling. 31k is the highest you should ever pay for a new one. Also, please get a new one. It's worth 31k. Believe me and all the others who purchased a new s2k.

to each his own, but to me, i cannot imagine buying a car brand new EVER. newness is nice, but you take a huge deprec hit, not to mention the "extra" money you spend.

people may drive the cars hard, but the s2000 is as close to bulletproof as they come.

if i were u, i'd decide on ap1 or ap2. then look for a nice used 02 or 04 from this site.

imagine what you could do with 12,000 dollars saved. mods for the car, supercharger, plasma tv, travelling, rims.

good luck with your decision, but i think ur nuts.

The 9K redline was one of the major reasons I bought the car
But I'm sure it's as fun to drive as the 8K'ers

Exactly the way i feel, i bought a brand new 350z and took a huge depreciation hit. I told myself i would never do it again.

31K is about right. I talked the dealer in my area down to 30K for an 07.

I got mine for 32K in SoCal. They were asking $40,000 for it which is insane.

Send me a message if you are interested in more details.

Beyond that, as far as I can tell, most S2000 owners thrash their cars quite a bit,
great responses above...

first, imo its almost impossible to thrash this car. it was designed to be driven hard, and it takes it. it really does not like to be "babied"- it loves its redline, and thats why i like the 9k redline.

your choice is a personal decision. if you really want a new car, you will get an 8k redline. and you can be comfortable that no one drove it hard! or if you want to save some money you can prob find a low mileage ap1... less expensive, but it will have been driven.

its a personal call- when you get the car, be sure to drop by the wash & wax forum for some tips on keeping it looking new (if you get a new one), or on making it look new (if you decide on the ap1)!

you will find that a ton of people here went from an AP1 to an AP2 and love it but i haven't heard much about it being the other way around. Just as a reference keep that in mind.
