Contemplating giving up my S
Back when the S2000 was in production, Comptech (now CT but also now gone) offered a supercharger for the S2000. As long as it was installed by a licensed Honda/comptech dealership or mechanic, Honda would offer a full warranty on the car. I believe Honda originally wanted Comptech to include the SC as an original part of the car but stuff happened (which i dont know the details about) and the kit was then offered as an addon from the dealership. So maybe "from the factory" is technically wrong as this was a dealership add-on that Honda recognized and supported.
This is similar to how Edelbrock will offer full warranty on your car if you get their SC installed from a licensed Edelbrock installer. However in this case Edelbrock is taking over the warranty, wherase in the Comptech case, Honda is retaining the warranty and any work that needed to be done post Supercharger could be done at any Honda dealership.

I met a guy from Youngstown (OH) who is the original owner of a 2000 or 2001 model with a "factory" supercharger. I've no reason to doubt him nor means to verify the story. This car has very low boost -- the car isn't 400HP or anything like that but might be 300. He may be a member here.
As for "factory" stuff I doubt the factory hard tops were placed on the cars at the plant. More likely dealer installed like radios, alloy wheels, and AC used to be on my wife's long string of Civics.

I bought a very clean 00' and the first summer of ownership i was VERY anal about the car and worried a lot about not putting too many miles, keeping it clean, blah blah blah. This car is so unlike any other car (ive ever driven) and every time i drive it my heart races. It hit me one night that i need to enjoy this car for what it is and drive it like i might not get to tomorrow. It is possible to have a clean car that gets driven and you should consider yourself lucky for even owning one. I hope you keep it, and enjoy it.
I bought my 1,600 mile 08 several years back for 21k and modified the heck out of it to my taste....sure I could have bought an old one and done the same, but this was my dream car and it was in showroom condition
My point is, you wont get a chance to get this car back again, esp at that price. If I had to do it again, I would do the exact same. I've put 70k miles on mine with the supercharger now. It's been rock solid reliable and I've taken it as far south as Key West and as far north as Toronto. This stock engine can handle way more than the 400+ hp I am pushing with no sweat.

Back to OP.
I think you will regret selling it. They don't and won't ever make a vehicle like the s2000 ever again.
Remember - it's a honda - not a priceless museum piece... the fact that you put 8k miles on it in a year is you've already popped that cherry (I prob do 3k a year on mine).
Just drive the thing and quit worrying about life happening... or - if you'd PREFER a vette because you like them more then go ahead... but to sell the s2000 because you're worried about putting miles on it is ridiculous. Even if you drove it 8k a year for the next 5 years it would still be a very low mileage vehicle...
So funny how we have threads like this right below another thread celebrating 400k glorious miles passed and all the good times had.

I think If you're truly looking for advise on this topic, everyones response should answer your question.
This car is unlike any other car when it come to driver engagement.
I sold my first S2000 10 years ago, regretted every day until I bought my second S2000.
