Default Convert single exhaust to single, keep dual tips

Just wondering. I was looking at my Invidia today and something popped into my head. I really like the performance of Single exhaust but hate how it looks on AP2's. Couldn't you just customize the Invidia, or any dual into a single, close off the opening to the left side muffler, but keep it welded together for the dual look?

You could always do some type of custom inline electric exhaust cutout so you could weld in a valve in the driver's side pipine and close it from in the cabin when you want the performance of a single. Just an idea

Shortly i'll be running an exhaust cutout that will bypass my restrictive HKS dual all together and it will open up after my downpipe/testpipe, but with a turbo it is much quieter then running open header on a NA car . In your case I would just run the exhaust valve or cutout inline with the driver's side instead of using a Y-pipe to bypass the exhaust. Good luck with it.

The difference in gains between single and dual has to be where the exhaust splits into two. So fix that problem, and you should gain some power, right?

That is what I was thinking. I would put the flange right where it splits (or weld it in right after it splits) to make it operate like a single.

i have a spugen single and i was trying to think of a way to pass it through two muffler at the switch of a button. This way it can be quite when i need/ want it to be. Do they make valves that you can control for this purpose? I know porsche has them.

Here are a few cutouts, they would have to be modified, but could work. Hope it helps.

How expensive would this be to get done? Seems pretty simple!

I'm not sure if it would work inline with your exhaust though.
