You could also just buy a single exhaust and a second muffler. Get any pipe and weld it to the outside of the single exhaust and connect it to the second muffler. This way you're relatively assured of getting the full performance of a single (the method of sealing off a dual might not make as much power as a single). Just make sure you match your muffler to the single's muffler, otherwise it would look silly.

If you have a single exhaust you would need two of these right?

________II
________II
________II
_______//|| cutout
muffler {}||
_______\\|| cutout
________||
________||
________{}original muffler

I guess the second one would only really help with back preasure.

Has anyone tried this idea? After the resonator, weld an HKS muffler or muffler of your choice, and then have it split off into two pipes with ap2 muffler tips?

thoughts? power loss? i'm not too concerened about poewr gains, i just want to hear the exhaust note over stock.

Duels usually have smaller pipes after the split, so closing one off would make things worse.
