Convertible top abrasion

If you are within the original warrantee period, the dealer will replace the soft top including the plastic rear window, no questions asked. I know because I have had my soft top replaced under warrantee already. Unfortunately, the new soft top is no different from the old, it is still the same design and can wear through again. To prevent this, I have purchased some self adhesive felt pads and stuck them on the edge of the plastic flashing. I recommend people with the 00-01 tops to do the same to prevent the wear holes after you get the top replaced.
As for getting the top replaced under the extended warrantee, good luck. The soft top is not covered and you may have to negotiate with the dealer to get this done.

Could you possibly post some pics of what you've done?
I have an 00 with no real unusual wear, but I'd like to do this to keep it that way.
Thanks
Eddie
