Not to sound harsh, but if you have to debate an Evo or S2000, the S probably isn't for you. IMO when it comes to the S2K, the car chooses you not the other way around.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I know what I'm up against I just need some convincing. And to Yippee and Hyper-x, I've heard those words many times. I even say it to other people at times. But when you're choosing a car that you have not owned for a long period of time, there is no way to tell which one is the perfect car for you. I'm sure we all agree that we can't possibly know what a car is 100% made of just by a test drive.

Sure one has 2 doors and one has 4, one is a sedan and one is a convertible. But these things really aren't the deciding factors in my decision. For ex if I had a family I would opt for the evo because it has 4 doors, etc. Thanks though guys.

In your original post, you did mention that the 4door deal was an important factor towards the Evo but now you're implying that it doesn't matter. I'm a straight forward kind of guy so I'll tell you like it is, it seems that you don't know what you want at all.

I wasn't concerned about pointing out the obvious that you can clearly see between the two. The point I was trying to make was perhaps you were looking for a intangible, less physical factor... something like the driving experience between the two. I've driven something like a SVT Mustang and it's incredibly fast and powerful but it feels cheaper than a toy from a Cracker Jacks box.

If you need convincing, GET THE EVO... The S2000 will get old real fast with the excess noise and lack of storage space for daily driving. The EVO handles every bit as well and is bit more civilized and less noisy on the commute.
You have to be in love with the S to be an owner of it as your solo car, otherwise, you might end up regretting it later.

It seems you have misunderstood. The 4 doors is a pro for the evo, but it isn't the deciding factor, meaning I can do without it. Of course I don't know what I want, if I didn't I wouldn't have to make this topic now would I.

Some of you guys may have understood my question wrong. I KNOW the s2000 is a whole different car, and takes something special to truly appreciate it. I'm asking those that DO own the car to give some feedback. Some of you guys' comments just make it seem like if you don't fall in love with the s2000 at first sight you don't deserve one, or something along those lines.

No, what we're saying is that if you don't immediately fall in love with the S2000 from the time you drive it, you may end up regretting the purchase later because of its unique character and the lack of practicality..

Quite funny, because I've always thought you need to give a unique car time in order to feel the uniqueness. =]

Regardless, I'll do some more test drives and hopefully come to a conclusion, thanks!

This pretty much sums it up.

And if I am going to be daily driving the s2000, am I really much better off getting the ap2?
As far as I'm concerned that AP2 is better for DD because AP1 has no torque is total bull crap. It's bogus, and the worst part is, Honda actually created the 2.2, and then mandated it for North America only. Look up the pathetic little torque increase, in my opinion there is no way that's going to make much of a difference? I have 44,000 miles on my AP1, it's a great DD. I have driven AP2's and what hits me most is not some little increase in torque (a torque increase is driving the Titan, that has 380 foot pounds) what gets me is the fact that you hit VTEC at 6k, then at 8k you have to shift already, hitting VTEC at 6lk and then being able to run it all the way up to 9k is way more fun in my book, way more fun.

Good luck on your decision, here is the only other thing I have to say
