Convince me one way or the other.
As you can see there are plenty of people that appreciate your posts and very useful information. I just read through a couple pages of that thread and your posts taught me a lot. Keep it up!
There is a point though where you just need to give up on trying to convince stubborn people to change their minds. Ignorance really is bliss, and some people don't want to change their ways or even have their ways challenged. Don't completely give up on people but just know when enough is enough. I probably would have stopped explaining myself after the 4th or 5th page, lol.

I appreciate all the responses here, and don't want to slight anyone, but Frank B's post really seems to hit the nail squarely on the head.
I sincerely appreciate your taking the time to read the thread (or most of it
) and comment, and I totally agree with you when you say that it might have been better if I had given up a bit earlier. I suppose I care a little too much about our community and my fellow S2000 owners to have a good feel for when it is time to just walk away. I use to try to get XViper to be a little more patient with people here, and to walk away before getting so upset, and now I'm getting the same advice from others, so it must be right.
So, Frank B, I agree with you on all counts, but at what point do you walk away and let ignorance stand unchallenged? It seems to me that we have to constantly correct each other to prevent S2kI from becoming a sea of misinformation, and I guess I'm now questioning whether or not that itself is worth the effort. S2kI is a valuable resource, but misinformation reduces it's value. Are we just going to let the value of our community go to pot because it's no longer worth the effort?

Out of respect for your efforts, I read the thread. Well, most of it. Trying to impaet useful information on the internet is probably worth the effort, but only up to a point. I admire your persistance, but it might have been better if you had given up a bit earlier. It just gets too frustrating trying to deal with people who refuse to be dealt with. I know this has been said many times, but this is a very different place now than it was a few years ago. I guess you're better off if you try to take things less personnaly. Well "web things" anyway.

I also want to thank those who have selected the third poll option. Your honest opinions are just as valuable and meaningful as everyone elses, and I appreciate the fact that you took the time to cast a vote.
Dude, call a time out. After a while, if you find you miss posting in S2000 Talk, come back and post. Or don't, if you don't.

Just do like I do: when someone posts things that show they're likely not capable of adding anything to discussions, I use the "ignore" button. This practice appreciably shortened my reading of that thread.
The Internet can be a very frustrating place to have a discussion, especially when you really know what you're talking about. For me, I really enjoy everything I've learned from S2ki over the past few years and if not for the write-ups of yourself, as well as others who have gotten frustrated and left, I can surely say that I would not have learned nearly as much.
Seriously.....Thanks to you and others for helpfully sharing with those of us who know far less about cars. I for one think your time was well spent.

Okay... so... I just finished reading pages 3 through 8. And boy are your posts long. But I for one, love em. There will always be stubborn people out there. But there are probably just as many people who actually take into consideration half the stuff they read and make their own sense of it. And I for one am glad that someone who is that knowlegeable is willing to spend the time and effort to actually explain it to us.
With that being said, I say keep it up

I didn't vote or read the referenced thread. Based on the title, I'm guessing that you're wondering if your thoughtful posts are worthwhile.
Yes, they are.
I only clicked on this thread because you started it.
I read more of your posts than anyone else's posts.
Why? Because they're insightful and genuinely helpful.
Thanks
