Default Convince me one way or the other.

After this thread I am pretty well convinced that trying to help out others here on S2kI has become more trouble than it's worth. I know many of you benefit from the discussions, but if you read the entire thread with a modicum of understanding I think the reasons for my frustration will be all too clear. If it's not, then just select option number three in the poll and I'll take it as a vote for my keeping my mouth shut from now on.

Thanks all, especially those of you with funcitoning brain cells betweeen your ears.

Red, Ill admit I didnt read the necessary thread and all but I will be upset if you quit doing your novel posts. Every single worthwhile one you do I save on my computer for future reference. Keep it up and dont let people who dont agree with your posts get to you. Some of us do appreciate it.

I think some people come across the wrong way on here. Also people take things very literal on here. Some people live to arguee on here and have to prove themselves right. Honestly i cant believe that people let others control thier emotions and get upset over the internet. If you want to help people on here then do it. If replys upset you then stay off the internet. My wife started to breed dogs and doesnt go on any forums. So she had no idea what *ssholes are on the internet. She got bitched out on a dog forum because she was trying to get special colored dogs. If people bitch you out about dogs then this is nothing LOL!!!!

Hey Red, I read some of that gawd awful thread... I can absolutely see where you frustrations come from, but I'd also like to say for every "why break your transmission by down shifting" guy there are probably 10 or 20 lurkers like me who got quite a bit out of the the thread. So, yah, I think you wasted your time trying to convince them... on the other hand I found it helpful even if they didn't. You really didn't convince me of anything (I think trying to convince people is, in general, completely useless) as I already drove that way, but you did make me more knowledgeable on the subject.

I read the thread an your posts, and while I am fairly well educated with transmissions (I custom built one in my civic) I still enjoyed the write up.

People are always going to have differing opinions. Sometimes this concept benefits society, sometimes its simply frustrating. Life is easier to live if you accept this concept, do your thing, and just be ok with the fact that not everyone will agree with you. (whether they are educated enough to justify the formation of an opinion or not)

Live and let live seems to get me by fairly well. Please do continue your posts, they benefit many members.

There are dicks in every forum that lead people to act tough and join the bandwagon, but I get a lot of good info on here.

I don't usually visit S2000 Talk and I've never really read your posts before, but after reading that one I'm impressed with both your knowledge and the way you get it across. I can see why you're frustated, but I think that the information you provide is very much needed on this site so I voted that I think the benefits justify the your effort. I'll definately be paying more attention when I see one of your posts.

Out of respect for your efforts, I read the thread. Well, most of it. Trying to impaet useful information on the internet is probably worth the effort, but only up to a point. I admire your persistance, but it might have been better if you had given up a bit earlier. It just gets too frustrating trying to deal with people who refuse to be dealt with. I know this has been said many times, but this is a very different place now than it was a few years ago. I guess you're better off if you try to take things less personnaly. Well "web things" anyway.

RED... it's a waste of time. Seriously... you give poster waaaay to much credit. I've started avoided threads like this.

Too many Noobies getting their hands on the S that don't know how to drive. Some don't even know what they are doing. They are doing one thing and calling is another.

The best solution is.... if you want to post in a thread such as that, put in some good solid info and then have a mod close the thread.

Just reading threads like that piss me off to be honest. Most of what people are posting is BS and your falling right into their hands.

You can't save all the owners just like you can't educate the ones who don't want to be educated..... post your piece and let it be.

It's a new crowed of owners and they don't want to be told that they don't know how to drive.

Tim
